Enclomiphene Citrate is the trans-isomer of clomiphene citrate, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that has been extensively studied for its effects on the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. Unlike the racemic mixture clomiphene (which contains both zuclomiphene and enclomiphene), enclomiphene is pharmacologically distinct in that it acts primarily as an estrogen receptor antagonist at the hypothalamus and pituitary, stimulating the release of gonadotropins (LH and FSH) without the prolonged estrogenic agonist effects associated with the zuclomiphene isomer.
